Sometime in March,
Whenever I wasn't able to make sense of things, or when I wasn't fully able to comprehend a situation I would make up stories or small lies in my head mixed in with the truth. In doing so, the situation as a whole would then make more sense to me. I would believe in the lie so much that it became the truth in my eyes.
Although I haven't spent a lot of times in basements, and I don't think any of my friends are off in space, and I know for a fact that you have never once blatantly told me to wait for you, somehow in some way these things just make sense to me. And it scares me how willing I am to believe the lie so that one day I can call it the truth.
lyrics
I can never let you go
You’re apart of my soul
You're the best girl I know
I texted your friends but they still haven't responded
Why do they always make me feel like shit
I’m sorry to say that I’m not the one that you wanted
But I guess I’ll just have to trust it will work out in the end
All of our friends are off on some distant planet
And we are alone in some basement again
And every time I look at your California eyes
I can’t help but to do a little grin
Remember the time that we both said we wanted to leave
Then you pulled around and you tugged on my sleeve
And you said to me those words I can’t stop repeating
Trust is a two way street will you wait for me
Oh trust is a two way street will you wait for me
That’s why I’m standing here
